19-year-old youth arrested for allegedly sexually harassing woman

A 19-year-old man was on Sunday arrested for allegedly sexually harassing and threatening a woman at his house in Mogappair East. The accused, Vishal, of Mogappair East, studied with the woman in Class 11. Though the two remained friends initially, the woman stopped talking to him about a year ago, the police said. On August 7, Vishal called the woman from another number and, posing as his mother, insisted that she visit his house for an Aadi month pooja. The woman subsequently went to his house around noon, where Vishal allegedly sexually harassed her. He also showed her an obscene video on his mobile phone and threatened to morph her photographs and send them to her family if she did not comply with his demands.
