Lady Gaga ’s “The Dead Dance” from Wednesday was a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 last September. Now the song, which Gaga co-wrote with Andrew Watt and Henry Walter Russell (Cirkut), is nominated for a Primetime Emmy for outstanding original music and lyrics. It’s Gaga’s first Emmy nod for songwriting. “Til It Happens to You,” which Gaga performed in The Hunting Ground , won in this category in 2016, but the Emmys credited only Diane Warren as the songwriter.
