Bard gets shotWhile working a HEMS shift, Flynn is called to an incident in the Army barracks alongside Jacob and Teddy. Flynn fears that Colonel Bard has caused another soldier an injury, but when he arrives, Flynn realises that it's Bard himself who has suffered a gunshot wound.As Bard is tended to, he explains that his weapon accidentally backfired, causing his injury. But as Bard is being carried out, bullets are fired at Flynn and the team – and they realise that Bard's version of events was a lie. With an active shooter on the loose, the medics must work out how to get Bard to hospital both safely and in time.2. Matty and Dylan are tenseAt the end of the dramatic events of the previous episode, Matty and Dylan had an emotional confrontation where they were more open and honest than ever and Dylan pledged to tackle his addiction to keep his son in his life.However, in the finale, Matty is still cautious around his dad in the ED. The pair work together to treat a teenager who's brought to the hospital with his older sister. Flynn is under fireStevie returns to resus after her temporary ban and treats Bard, who refuses to identify the mystery shooter. Noticing that Flynn is growing increasingly agitated, Stevie suggests he step away and take some time out.But when Flynn heads out to reception, he sees a woman who looks familiar – and before he can do anything, something metallic rolls across the floor and there's a sudden explosion! As smoke billows around reception and the hospital is put into lockdown, Flynn rushes back to resus. What does he find, and could there be deadly consequences for a doctor or a patient?4. Cam has an ideaCam faces a difficult shift, looking after the patients in the corridor while the hospital descends into chaos. He's worried about a vulnerable patient and knows she needs to be isolated, so after encouragement from Indie, he takes matters into his own hands.Siobhan is unimpressed when she realises where Cam has moved the patient to, but the scenario gives Cam a bright idea. Can he make a lasting different to the way the ED corridor functions?5. Rash gets big newsRash is anxiously awaiting the results of his CESR. If he passes the assessment process, he will qualify as a consultant. Rash struggles with his confidence on this important day, but he's later put into a stressful situation where he needs to stand up for himself.
