A Hyderabad-based snake rescue organization is facing a surge in hoax calls involving AI-generated images of snakes. While some callers use these images to report snakes that have hidden from view, others are using them for pranks or to justify workplace absences, diverting critical emergency resources.
AI-generated images of snakes sent by people hampered rescue operations of a Hyderabad-based organisation. Pranksters or people who wanted to take a leave or break at workplaces if otherwise not permitted made hoax calls and sent such photos. There is also another category of people, which is an exception: those who spotted a snake but sent AI-generated image after the reptile slithered under furniture at their home or inaccessible corner.
