AIADMK did not accept DMK’s ‘offer of support’ to form government, says former Minister

Former Minister for School Education and AIADMK leader K. Pandiarajan on Tuesday contended that his party did not accept the “offer of support” by the DMK forr government formation immediately after the Assembly poll last May. Quoting AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the former Minister told reporters that though the matter had been raised at a meeting of the legislators, no one spoke in favour of the proposal. “Those who want to leave the organisation are using this as a pretext to quit the party,” Mr. Pandiarajan said, adding that a narrative was being set as if the party was on the verge of becoming a ‘spent force’.
