AJK EC denies reports about postponement of August 10 AJK LA polls in Poonch

MIRPUR - Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission (AJK EC) Tuesday categorically refuted reports circulating about the postponement of elections in the Poonch Division, describing them as baseless and contrary to facts. It clarified that polling in all constituencies will be held on August 10 as per the officially announced schedule. An Election Commission spokesperson said in a statement issued on Tuesday polling across all electoral constituencies of the Poonch Division will take place on the scheduled date, and there is no truth to rumours regarding any postponement of the elections. The spokesperson urged voters not to pay heed to misinformation and to exercise their right to vote on August 10 in accordance with the announced election schedule. He further stated that if any changes are made to the election schedule, the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will officially inform the public in a timely manner.
