Another tiger death reported in A.P.’s Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve; official suspended
A tigress died in Andhra Pradesh's Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve after being caught in a snare, with forest officials attempting to cover up the incident. Disciplinary action has been taken against staff members for failing to report the death and improperly disposing of the carcass.
Even as the probe into the recent death of two tigers in Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR) of Andhra Pradesh is on, the death of a tigress in the reserve came to light on Tuesday. Though the tigress died in September 2025, the field staff did not inform the higher officials about it and disposed of the carcass, senior officials said.
