Visakhapatnam police have issued a travel advisory urging residents to avoid non-essential travel on August 1 due to expected heavy traffic congestion. The congestion is linked to the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju Airport, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Commissioner of Police, Shankabratha Bagchi has requested the public to avoid non-essential travel within the city on August 1 between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m., and again between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., as heavy traffic congestion is expected due to the movement of VIPs and the large gathering expected for the Alluri Sitarama Raju Airport inaugural event, to be held at Bhogapuram on Saturday, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending.
