BINI, Liza Soberano, H.E.R. set for 'Forgotten Island' panel at San Diego Comic-Con

MANILA, Philippines - Filipino stars BINI and actress Liza Soberano are headed to San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where they will join Grammy-winning singer H.E.R., actor Dave Franco and the filmmakers behind DreamWorks Animation's highly anticipated fantasy adventure "Forgotten Island." DreamWorks announced the lineup through the film's official social media accounts, confirming that director Joel Crawford, co-director Januel Mercado, H.E.R., Soberano, Franco and BINI will appear at a panel in Ballroom 20 on July 24 at 10 a.m. PT (July 25 in the Philippines). 'Alert the group chat. Forgotten Island is coming to San Diego Comic-Con! Meet us in Ballroom 20... Experience Forgotten Island only in theaters September 25,' the studio posted alongside the official event poster. The panel marks another milestone for Filipino representation in Hollywood, bringing together the film's lead stars and one of the Philippines' biggest P-pop acts for one of the entertainment industry's largest fan conventions. Soberano voices Raissa, one of the film's two protagonists, opposite H.E.R., who lends her voice to Jo. Franco voices Raww, a friendly were-aspin who accompanies the pair on their journey. BINI, meanwhile, serves as one of the soundtrack artists for the film with its original single, 'A Parallel World,' released on July 23 across major streaming platforms. Produced by Nathan Matthew David and Shawn Wasabi, with mixing by Grammy-winning engineer Tom Norris, the electronic pop anthem blends English and Tagalog lyrics while echoing the film's themes of friendship, resilience and hope. The group first performed the song live during the opening night of its Signals World Tour at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, where fans also got a first look at its official choreography. 'A Parallel World' is part of a soundtrack that prominently features Filipino artists, including SB19, Lea Salonga and Sophia Laforteza of global girl group KATSEYE. Written and directed by Crawford and Mercado - the creative team behind "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" - "Forgotten Island" is inspired by Philippine mythology and 1990s Filipino culture. The story follows lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa, who are transported to the mystical island of Nakali on the eve of their high school graduation. As they search for a way home, they must confront mythical creatures from Filipino folklore before the island erases their memories of each other. The film also features the voices of Lea Salonga as the Dreaded Manananggal, Manny Jacinto, Jenny Slate, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy and Ronny Chieng. Forgotten Island opens in theaters on Sept. 25.
