BJP seeks action against those denigrating Hindu religion, temples on social media
A BJP delegation has petitioned the police to take legal action against social media content creators who allegedly denigrate Hindu deities and religious practices. The party argues that such content promotes public disorder and violates several Indian laws.
A delegation of BJP leaders led by TTD Board member G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy has submitted a representation to DGP (CID and Cybercrime) Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, seeking action against individuals, religious speakers, content creators and online channels denigrating Hindu Gods and Goddesses and temples, and mocking Hindu religious practices through social media platforms.
