At Esquire, we're all about celebrating homegrown excellence. Spotlighting British watchmakers is one thing, but a collaborative watch made in tribute to one of the greatest scientific talents in our country's history? Well, that's right up our alley.Bremont, who has previously worked with the family of the late Stephen Hawking in the past (back in 2020, specifically), has just revealed a second watch made in partnership with them. This time, it's dedicated to, and takes some design inspiration from, Hawking's research into black holes. The Bremont Supernova Hawking sits in a 41mm case, made from ultra black steel; its colour and multi-layer construction are a nod to space engineering and black holes. It also features a textured dial in black, white and grey, with a grid pattern that builds towards the centre from the edges of the dial. The ceramic bezel is shaped like a decagon, giving it a futuristic, angular look.It has chronograph functionality, with two sub-dials: one acts as a 30-minute counter, and the other acts as a second counter. The real draw of these is that they're made from real meteorite, and the seconds hand on the chronograph are made from black gold. The caseback also features a swirling black hole for a distinctive touch.A small date window sits at 6 o'clock, just beneath Stephen Hawking's name and black hole temperature equation. It's just as impressive on the inside, with a 62-hour power reserve and water resistance up to 100 metres. You can't ask for much more.If you're hoping to get your hands on this one, you may have to act fast, as it's strictly limited to 600 pieces. You can buy the Bremont Supernova Hawking now from the brand's website for £7,700 on a rubber strap, or for £7,950 on a bracelet.
