Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band drummer sells 33k-sq-ft Palm Beach land for $13m

Max Weinberg, drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, and his wife Rebecca Weinberg have sold two adjoining waterfront parcels in Ocean Ridge, Florida, for $13 million, according to property records.The two lots at 7 and 9 Sabal Island Drive together cover more than 33,000 square feet and have roughly 325 feet of frontage along the Intracoastal Waterway, reported the NY Post. The property includes deep-water dockage, a recently rebuilt seawall and access to the Atlantic Ocean through the nearby Boynton Inlet.The land was sold without being publicly marketed, according to a source familiar with the transaction. The buyer, who has not been identified, reportedly discovered the property and completed the purchase within days. The home was apparently never even listed on the open market.Nick Malinosky and Michael O’Connor of The Exclusive Group at Douglas Elliman represented both the buyer and seller.The sale comes as large waterfront land parcels remain highly sought after in Palm Beach County. LandSearch data cited by The New York Post puts the average asking price for waterfront land in the county at more than $10.8 million.The scarcity of large, contiguous waterfront sites has made properties that can accommodate custom-built homes particularly attractive to wealthy buyers. Ocean Ridge and neighbouring communities have also drawn high-profile owners and buyers, including Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, WeatherTech founder David MacNeil, Fox News host Sean Hannity and motivational speaker Tony Robbins.Waterfront construction can also cost substantially more than building inland because of requirements involving pilings, flood compliance and seawalls.The value of waterfront land was highlighted by the 2024 sale of Palm Beach’s only private island, 10 Tarpon Isle, for $152 million.Weinberg's real estate careerWeinberg, 75, has been involved in real estate for decades and has bought, built and sold numerous properties. He also serves on the Planning and Zoning Board in nearby Delray Beach, where he owns a home.The New Jersey native joined Springsteen’s E Street Band in 1974 after auditioning for the drummer's position.
