While farmers took to the streets in the Cauvery basin area on Wednesday to oppose any move to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu as per the directions of the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC), Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that Karnataka will go an appeal before the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) against the direction to release 3,500 cusecs of water daily for 15 days to Tamil Nadu.
