The Greater Chennai Corporation has opened the self-enumeration portal for the 2027 Census, allowing residents to register household details online. The process runs from July 17 to July 31, followed by a formal house listing survey in August.

The house listing and housing census will be carried out from August 1 to 30. Residents can provide the self-enumeration reference number to enumerators during the survey, according to a press release.
