Commission welcomes political agreement on the Programme for agile and rapid defence innovation (AGILE)

The European Commission and Parliament have reached a political agreement on the AGILE programme, a €115 million initiative to accelerate disruptive defence technology. The programme aims to move innovations from labs to the field rapidly, with operations starting in early 2027.
The European Commission welcomes the political agreement reached on 15 July 2026 between the European Parliament and the Council on the Programme for agile and rapid defence innovation (AGILE) , to bring disruptive defence technology from the lab to the field at record speed.
