Commonwealth Games | BFI president Ajay Singh says ‘exceptional’ Indian boxers ‘exceeded expectations’

Boxing Federation of India president Ajay Singh praised the national team for winning 10 medals at the Commonwealth Games, exceeding initial expectations. While celebrating the success, officials cautioned that the upcoming Asian Games will present a much tougher competitive field.
Terming India’s record haul of 10 boxing medals, comprising seven gold and three silver, at the Commonwealth Games as “exceptional”, Boxing Federation of India (BFI) president Ajay Singh said he was pleasantly surprised by the team’s performance, admitting that he had expected only “six or seven boxers to reach the finals” rather than all 10.
