CPI(M) leader accuses UDF govt. of 'insulting' fishing community

CPI(M) leader A.A. Rahim has criticized the UDF government for its handling of recent maritime tragedies and its perceived neglect of the fishing community. He also alleged that the central government failed to provide adequate weather warnings for the affected areas.
Communist Party of India [CPI(M)] leader A.A. Rahim, MP, on Saturday accused the UDF government of “insulting” the fishing community. Mr. Rahim visited the home of John, a fisherman who went missing at sea from Pulluvila in Vizhinjam, and the families of those affected by the recent tragedy at Muthalappozhi. He also visited the accident site at Muthalappozhi and assessed the situation and the rescue efforts. He questioned the State government’s response to these incidents. He also alleged that the Centre had repeatedly failed to provide adequate and timely weather warnings.
