CPI(M) seeks clarification from TVK-led government on Mekedatu resolution.
The CPI(M) has demanded that the Tamil Nadu government clarify why it included a previous administration's proposal for a water tribunal in a recent resolution against the Mekedatu dam. The party argues that the dam project is detrimental to the interests of local farmers.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central Committee Member U. Vasuki has sought a clarification from the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led Tamil Nadu government on the inclusion of DMK’s proposal for the formation of a Tribunal on Mekedatu issue in the resolution against the construction of the Mekedatu dam passed on the floor of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly recently.
