The eight teams that will contest the Cup quarter-finals at the 2026 Dala 7s were confirmed on Saturday after the conclusion of the pool stage, with Zetech Oaks, Kenya Harlequins, Daystar Falcons and Strathmore Leos claiming the final knockout places. The quartet joined KCB Rugby, Menengai Oilers, Mwamba RFC and Kabras Sugar RFC, who had already secured their quarter-final spots after winning their opening two pool matches earlier in the day. Saturday's final round of group fixtures also saw Menengai Oilers, Mwamba RFC and Kabras Sugar RFC complete unbeaten pool campaigns with maximum points, while defending champions KCB Rugby were held to a dramatic draw before still finishing top of their group. KCB wrapped up Pool A with eight points after playing out a 19-19 draw against MMUST Rugby Club, with George Ooro scoring a late try to rescue the defending champions. Zetech Oaks secured the second qualification place with seven points by edging Impala RFC 19-14, ending Impala's hopes of reaching the knockout stage. In Pool B, Menengai Oilers maintained their perfect record with a 26-0 victory over Mombasa Rugby Club to finish on nine points. Kenya Harlequins joined them in the quarter-finals after defeating Blak Blad 26-7 to seal second place with seven points. Pool C produced the closest battle for qualification. Mwamba RFC completed a flawless group campaign with a 26-17 win over hosts Kisumu RFC to finish top with nine points, while Daystar Falcons booked the remaining quarter-final berth by beating Nondescripts RFC 12-7. Kabras Sugar RFC also finished the preliminary round with maximum points after cruising to a 33-0 victory over Nakuru RFC in Pool D. Strathmore Leos claimed the second qualification spot from the group with a commanding 53-0 win over Embu RFC. The quarter-final fixtures will see defending champions KCB Rugby take on Kenya Harlequins, while Menengai Oilers face Zetech Oaks. Elsewhere, Mwamba RFC will meet Strathmore Leos as Kabras Sugar RFC square off against Daystar Falcons, with the winners progressing to the Cup semi-finals.
