DDA extends booking for Karkardooma housing scheme till July 31
AI Summary

The Delhi Development Authority has extended the booking and payment deadlines for its Karkardooma housing project until July 31. The extension aims to accommodate delays in statutory approvals and address requests from allottees.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the booking period for flats under its first Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) housing project, Towering Heights in East Delhi, Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2026, till July 31, according to a circular issued by the authority. The second phase of the first come, first served (FCFS) scheme was launched in January with March 31 as the booking deadline. It was subsequently extended to May 31 and June 30, before being extended again by another month. In the first phase, conducted through an e-auction in December 2025, the DDA sold 178 of the 1,026 flats put up for auction. The DDA has also extended the payment deadline for allottees under the Towering Heights, Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2025 (e-auction) and the Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2026 (FCFS). According to the circular, the extension has been granted in view of the time likely to be required for obtaining statutory approvals, the prevailing geopolitical situation and representations received from allottees seeking additional time. Under the revised schedule, allottees whose 60-day interest-free payment period has expired can make payments without interest till July 31. Successful allottees requiring additional time can make payments till August 30, subject to interest at 10% per annum, in accordance with the scheme provisions. The DDA is offering 848 two-bedroom flats measuring 140 sq. m to 195 sq. m, priced at approximately ₹1.8 crore to ₹2.4 crore. Of these, 741 flats are available for individual buyers and 107 have been reserved for bulk allotment to government institutions. Spread over 30 hectares, the project has been planned as a mixed-use development integrating residential, commercial and civic spaces. TOD projects promote high-density, mixed-use development around mass transit hubs to encourage the use of public transport and reduce dependence on private vehicles. The project is located next to the Karkardooma Interchange Metro station, providing access to the Blue and Pink Lines. It is also close to NH-9, NH-24, Anand Vihar Railway Station and the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).
