BENGALURU: A 20-year-old paramedical student was found dead in a decomposed state inside his house in Madanayakanahalli on Friday. The incident came to light after family members noticed a foul smell emanating from the house and found him hanging in his room. The deceased has been identified as Udhay Gowda, a resident of Marappanapalya. Based on the preliminary investigation, police said that Udhay's body was found by his parents on Friday evening in his room on the first floor of their house.Udhay was a paramedical student at a private college and was working as a part-time employee at a commercial establishment. His parents stayed on the ground floor of the house, while Udhay stayed on the first floor.Police suspect that Udhay allegedly died by suicide by hanging on Wednesday, but the family noticed it only on Friday. His mother went to the first floor and noticed a foul smell. She immediately alerted her husband, and they broke open the door of the room to find him dead.Madanayakanahalli Police rushed to the spot and found no suicide note. His parents told police that Udhay would often return home late and would either be outside or stay at his elder sister's house, where she lives with her husband. As the door was locked, they assumed that he was at his sister's house.Though his brother-in-law alleged that Udhay was addicted to online gaming and suspected that he took the extreme step due to it, his parents told police that he was not addicted to gaming.A senior officer said, "There is no foul play in his death. It is a clear case of suicide, but the reason is yet to be ascertained. Udhay never expressed any issues to his parents. His mobile phone has been seized and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory to retrieve data. His parents last saw him after he returned from Tirupati four days before the incident came to light."Based on a complaint filed by his father, Suresh, a case of Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered, and further investigation is on.Get the latest City News and Live updates.
