DMK MLA arrested over alleged threat against Tamil Nadu CM Vijay

CHENNAI: Police on Monday arrested Vilathikulam DMK MLA GV Markandeyan over alleged threatening and controversial remarks against Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay made during a public meeting in Kovilpatti.Videos of the speech have been circulating on social media, drawing criticism over the MLA's remarks.Police reached Markandeyan's residence in Vilathikulam early in the morning and took him into custody.Supporters of the MLA protested the arrest, raised slogans and attempted to block the police vehicle.
