'Don't Waste Our Time' : Supreme Court Refuses Urgent Listing Of Plea Against Police Action On Student Protesters

The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to allow urgent listing of a petition raising the issue of the Delhi police attack on student protesters in the national capital during the protests called by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) seeking the resignation of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over exam paper leaks."Don't waste our time, and don't waste your time," the Chief Justice of India Surya Kant told Advocate Narendra Mishra, who mentioned the matter. Mishra has sent a letter petition to the CJI regarding the issue.The lawyer said that the students are raising important issues such as proper conduct of the NEET exam, and reforms in the National Testing Agency.Cutting the lawyer short, the CJI said, "Thank you very much."When the lawyer said that there are videos showing police excesses, the CJI said, "We are not interested in videos; we don't have time to watch." Yesterday, the Delhi High Court had refused to urgently hear a similar matter, saying, "Don't drag the Court into this."
