Ex-techie suffering from mental health issues walks naked to temple, dies by suicide

HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old former techie, who was suffering from mental health issues, died by suicide after walking naked to a temple and later jumping into a pond.The woman had previously worked as a techie in Bengaluru before moving to Visakhapatnam, news agency PTI reported.Police said her parents were living separately due to marital disputes.While her father resides in Visakhapatnam, the woman and her mother have been living in Peerzadiguda, Hyderabad.On Friday, the woman and her mother went to Miyapur to see a double-bedroom apartment they were planning to purchase.After returning home, they slept in separate rooms. Later, the woman allegedly locked her mother's bedroom from outside, walked naked to a temple and then jumped into a pond.Police received information about the incident on Saturday morning and recovered her body from the pond.Following the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to her mother.Her father was also informed about the incident, a police official said.The official added that both the deceased woman and her mother were suffering from phobias and fears.(With agency inputs)Get the latest City News and Live updates.
