EXCELlent Work, Detectives! Solving the Murder of Star Formation in Galaxies with JWST
Researchers are using the James Webb Space Telescope to study 'post-starburst' galaxies to understand why some galaxies stop forming stars. By observing these galaxies at 'cosmic noon,' scientists hope to identify the mechanisms, such as black hole feedback or gas flow disruptions, that cause this quenching process.
