Public health experts are calling for Mexico to integrate liver disease management into its national chronic care programs. The proposal highlights that liver disease affects nearly half of the adult population but lacks the systematic tracking applied to diabetes and obesity.

The authors argue Mexico should fold liver health into its existing programs for diabetes, obesity, and other noncommunicable diseases rather than treating it as a separate problem.
