LAHORE - Lahore Qalandars launched their Global Super League (GSL) 2026 campaign in style with a commanding 16-run victory over Perth Scorchers XI in the tournament opener at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, thanks to explosive batting performances from Shayan Jahangir and Farhan Yousaf, followed by a disciplined bowling display. After being sent into bat by Perth Scorchers XI captain Ashton Turner, the three-time PSL champions posted a competitive 171-7 in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Shayan Jahangir laid the foundation with a fluent 65 off 45 balls, striking eight fours and three sixes. Following his dismissal in the 14th over, Pakistan U19 captain Farhan Yousaf provided the finishing flourish with a scintillating 50 off just 23 deliveries, smashing five fours and three sixes. His fearless stroke play earned him the player of the match award.
