Finance Secretary appears before HC in contempt case

Telangana's Principal Secretary (Finance), Sandeep Kumar Sultania, appeared before the High Court in a contempt case for failing to remit stamp duty surcharge to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB). He informed the court that ₹25 crore had been remitted and the rest would follow in installments, leading to the court dispensing with his appearance and granting bail. The judge noted over 100 contempt cases against him and commented on the state's financial situation, advising on welfare schemes.
