Fire in ice cream making unit near Vijayawada

A fire broke out in an ice cream manufacturing unit located in Enikepadu on the outskirts of Vijayawada late on Sunday night (July 12, 2026). No one was injured in the incident, according to officials from the Fire Services Department. “The fire control staff received a call around 12 a.m., and fire tenders from Auto Nagar and other stations rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames by early Monday morning,” said NTR District Fire Officer (DFO) A.V. Shankar Rao. Packing materials stored in the ice cream factory were destroyed in the incident. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, the DFO said.
