Foundation laid for Rs 2,500-crore defence plant in Madhya Pradesh
The Madhya Pradesh government has laid the foundation for a Rs 2,500-crore missile manufacturing facility by Adani Defence and Aerospace in Shivpuri. The project aims to bolster India's indigenous defence supply chain and create local employment opportunities.
NEW DELHI: In a boost to defence manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh, CM Mohan Yadav Sunday laid the foundation stone for the Rs 2,500 crore missile manufacturing facility of Adani Defence and Aerospace in Shivpuri.The project will bridge a long-standing gap in India's defence supply chain by bringing system integration together with production of critical materials, enabling Indian armed forces to induct indigenous missile systems at scale, Adani Defence and Aerospace said in a statement.Speaking at the programme, Yadav said, "Shivpuri is advancing towards industrial and economic development. The establishment of the plant will bring large-scale investment to the region, generate new employment opportunities and position MP among the leading states in the country in the field of defence manufacturing."Get the latest India news and live updates.
