GCC’s property tax drive nets ₹133 crore, defaulters’ names to be published soon

To address the remaining ₹900 crore in outstanding dues, the civic body plans to publicly list major defaulters and has implemented digital payment tools to streamline the process.
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) collected over ₹133 crore during the special drive from July 3, 2026 so far this half year. This is more than twice the amount (₹52 crore) collected during the corresponding period last month, according to an official in the civic body’s Revenue Department.
