Governor declares today work-free for PVC collection

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke , has declared Tuesday a work-free day for public servants across the state to enable eligible residents collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concludes the distribution exercise ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Adeleke through its spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed in a statement noted that affected categories of workers also include local government staff, tertiary institutions among others. Rasheed said “The Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina who conveyed the directive in a circular across the public service said the work-free day approval was to enable public servants perform their civic obligation during the forthcoming gubernatorial and future elections in the State.” Read Also: Presidency, Oshiomhole chide Obi for attacking Tinubu According to the circular, those on essential duties like medical workers, security staff, are however advised to make necessary arrangements among themselves in this regard so as not to have negative consequences on the lives of the citizenry.
