Govt summons Meta's global team on August 5-6 over PM Modi Facebook post row
The Indian government has summoned Meta's global team to address concerns regarding the temporary removal of a Facebook post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Officials are also investigating allegations of algorithmic bias within the platform.
NEW DELHI: The Centre has summoned Meta's global team to India on August 5 and 6, IT secretary S Krishnan said on Tuesday.The move comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Facebook post addressing students' concerns over paper leaks was removed briefly.The government had earlier summoned Meta India officials and later sought an explanation from the company's global team over the temporary restriction on the Prime Minister's post.The Centre has also accused the social media giant of displaying algorithmic bias.Get the latest India News and Live updates.
