Grand Theft Auto VI fans pre-order the more expensive edition despite the economic challenges
AI Summary

Take-Two Interactive reports that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI are exceeding expectations despite global economic pressures. Consumers are showing a surprising preference for the more expensive Ultimate Edition over the standard version.

Of course, nothing is hotter right now than {Grand Theft Auto VI}, and pre-orders are in full swing. At a time when tariffs, war, and inflation have made most things more expensive - and with the gaming industry hit hard by skyrocketing component prices - you'd naturally think people would be eager to save a few bucks wherever possible. However, that doesn't seem to be the case with Grand Theft Auto VI. When Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently appeared on CNBC (thanks, Insider Gaming) to discuss Grand Theft Auto VI, among other topics, he revealed that pre-orders are going "much better than expected." The game is available in two editions: a standard version for $79.99, and for $99.99, you can also choose the more feature-rich Ultimate Edition.Normally, people tend to choose the standard edition, but nothing about the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI is normal, so Zelnick reveals that demand is "skewing more toward the premium edition." The fact that this game is being pre-ordered far more than expected naturally translates to millions of copies, and selling more of the higher-priced edition in this situation naturally means record revenue for Rockstar. Zelnick acknowledges, however, that this consumer behaviour may not last and offers a possible explanation:"That might be a reflection of the fact that the most avid consumers are the ones who are pre-ordering now."Whatever the case may be, it's certainly incredibly impressive. Which version are you planning to get when Grand Theft Auto VI is released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X on November 19?<social>https://x.com/GTAVI_Countdown/status/2086895340603531302</social>
