Greater Jakarta Weather Forecast: What to Expect Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts generally partly cloudy to overcast conditions across Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Thursday morning, July 30, 2026, with a chance of light rain in select locations."Heading into midday, there is a possibility of localized light rain across parts of Bogor Regency," BMKG noted in its statement on Thursday.Moving into the afternoon and evening, Jakarta and its neighboring regions are expected to range from overcast to heavily overcast, with light rain remaining a possibility."Light to moderate rainfall may occur across parts of South, East, West, and Central Jakarta, Tangerang City and Regency, South Tangerang City, Depok City, as well as Bekasi City and Regency," BMKG announced.By nightfall, weather conditions across Jakarta and its outskirts will remain predominantly overcast to heavily overcast."Light rain is possible in parts of South Jakarta, East Jakarta, the Thousand Islands, Tangerang City and Regency, South Tangerang City, Depok City, and Bekasi City and Regency," BMKG stated.Meanwhile, several areas across Bogor City and Regency may experience light to moderate showers.Temperatures in Bogor City and Regency are expected to range from 18 to 34 degrees Celsius, while other areas will see temperatures between 24 and 34 degrees Celsius.Humidity levels will hover between 42 and 94 percent, with surface winds blowing from the northeast to southeast at speeds of 5 to 45 km/h."Beware of potential rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in parts of Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) from the afternoon through the evening," BMKG warned.Read: BMKG Ramps Up Support as Indonesia Faces Drought and El NinoClick here to get the latest news updates from Tempo on Google News
