AI Summary

Radio host Greg James shared details about attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, describing the event as a high-profile celebrity gathering. He provided anecdotes about the atmosphere, the food, and the guest list while maintaining some discretion regarding specific private details.

Greg James has lifted the lid on what it was really like to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's 'wedding of the century' saying "It was like going to Madame Tussauds but the wax "talked back to you". He also revealed he stole three doilies from the wedding and handed them out to super fans outside. The broadcaster began by apologising for "deceiving" his followers by not sharing his invitation which he received on his phone the night before his Comic Relief challenge in March - only four months before the big day. He had strict instructions not to reveal a word to anyone and the only person in the know was his +1 wife Bella. In a bid to win back his listeners' trust, he has leaked huge insight into the huge occasion. Today Greg told listeners: "I had the best night. The food was plentiful and delicious." And he joked that while most weddings provide guests with their first drink for free, the showbiz power couple provided the "first 10,000 drinks free". Greg said that Travis and Taylor were so busy talking to their 1,000 guests, but he did get a chance to chat to them. "They both looked amazing; they were dancing on the dancefloor," he told listeners. Greg then divulged that a lot of the British stars stuck together for a large portion of the day - and he found himself hanging out with Hugh grant and his wife - but the group later went their separate ways and mingled with the huge US celebs in attendance. "It wasn't a sit down dinner," Greg revealed - as he also teased there were multiple cakes. The food was unlimited and Greg said "no comment" when asked about the dress and if Taylor had multiple outfit changes. "There was an open invitation to get up on stage and dance. All the songs played," he told listeners. Greg also said no comment to various other questions when he was quizzed, including if Taylor performed. Greg joked the wedding was like going to Madame Tussauds but the wax "talked back to you". He also revealed he stole three doilies from the wedding and handed them out to super fans. "It was really fun. When I got the invitation - it was ages ago and it was the night before the first day of the Comic Relief challenge. It was March. I was in the hotel in Weymouth feeling very unwell and I looked at my phone at the invitation, which had come through. That's how long I've been holding it in for," he said. "All I could tell is Bella - I couldn't tell my boss, I just took annual leave for it. I couldn't tell the people at the festival why I couldn't do the rest of the weekend there. Maybe they assumed it was my dad not doing well. I couldn't use him as an excuse." Greg then recalled how him and Graham Norton had been booked on the same This Morning show, with the two both being the only two stars in the UK publicly invited. Greg confided in Graham about the wedding, knowing he was invited too. Greg and Graham took their partners to dinner together to discuss the big wedding and rather than go somewhere public, they went for dinner at his. The revelatoins from Greg come after another guest branded the event "tacky" and "chaotic". The source told the Daily Mail : "There were slightly chaotic scenes around the food carts with all these amazing A-listers having to stand in line. It wasn’t quite what I expected." They claimed the huge list of celebs had been separated into class levels, from A to D. Among the lowest levels was said to be the likes of Cara Delevingne, with the group getting to the venue three hours before events unfolded. Another insider told the publication: "It was surprisingly chaotic inside. Arrivals were staggered with people having to wait for hours with nothing to do. The cocktails only started at 4pm. People literally were twiddling their thumbs for hours. "If you were in the 2.30pm time slot, you couldn’t even amuse yourself by checking your phone. You were just standing around like a lemon wondering why the hell you were forced to arrive so early." Taylor walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of her own hit Love Story while Sir Paul McCartney serenaded the couple with a Beatles classic at the reception - which had a line-up to rival any huge festival. All guests had been told they had to hand over their phones before the ceremony. The couple were desperate for there to be no unwanted leaks from their special day. Like this s tory?
