Gujarat horror: PG girl raped on terrace; guard arrested

AHMEDABAD: A security guard allegedly restrained a 22-year-old student using a wire around her neck and raped her on the terrace of a society in Jodhpur late on Saturday night.Anandnagar police said the accused, Dharm Singh, 27, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, was arrested from Hebatpur early on Sunday. He had been deployed at the society only six days ago.The woman, studying interior design in the city, was a paying guest in a flat in the society, and was on the terrace for a walk.The accused allegedly approached her with the intention of having sexual relations.When she refused, he allegedly assaulted her, restrained her with a wire around the neck and raped her.Police said the assault lasted nearly an hour. The wire prevented her from shouting for help.
