Himachal Pradesh accident: 7 killed, 11 injured after bus crash

SHIMLA: At least seven people were killed and 11 others injured after a bus met with an accident near Chalunj Mor in Bairagarh Tissa area of Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district on Saturday morning.The accident occurred at around 7:15 am on the Teesa-Bairagarh road, according to the district Disaster Management Authority.All 11 injured people were shifted to a hospital for treatment, while six of them were referred to Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and Hospital in Chamba for further treatment.A search and rescue team comprising personnel from the NDRF, police, home guards, fire services was dispatched to the accident site.According to preliminary information, around 20 to 25 passengers were travelling on the bus at the time of the accident.Chamba superintendent of police Vijay Saklani said the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained and that police will investigate the circumstances leading to the mishap.Chaos prevailed at the site following the accident as rescue operations were launched.Further details about the accident, including the identities of those killed and injured, are awaited.Stay updated with the latest Shimla news.
