‘Hum don hain’: Raipur student assaulted at school, video posted online

RAIPUR: A video purportedly showing a student of the state-run Swami Atmanand School in the state capital being assaulted has gone viral on social media, raising questions over the safety of students on the school premises and the alleged inaction of the school authorities.According to the complaint, the student was allegedly assaulted by fellow students, who are also accused of bringing outsiders to attack him. The incident was reportedly recorded on video and uploaded on social media as a reel.The video allegedly carries dialogues from the film Tirangaa, including the threatening line, “Hum don hain, maa vakil hai, judge se setting hai” (I am a don, my mother is a lawyer and I have connections with the judge).The complainant further alleged that the mother of the accused student created a scene at the police station in an attempt to shield her son. Some lawyers also reportedly accompanied her in his support.The victim’s family approached the school authorities after the incident and complained to the principal.
