IHC seeks FIA response regarding travel ban on Yar Muhammad Rind
The Islamabad High Court has ordered the Federal Investigation Agency to explain the travel ban imposed on former minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind. The court is seeking clarification on the legal basis for the restriction after police reportedly recommended his removal from the list.
ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit its reply in a petition filed by former federal minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind challenging the travel restrictions imposed on him. Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas heard the petition, during which Barrister Zafarullah appeared on behalf of the petitioner. The Assistant Attorney General informed the court that Rind's name had been placed on the travel restriction list on the recommendation of police in connection with a criminal case. Justice Minhas asked the govt to specify the nature of the case, where it had been registered and when it was lodged.
