Iranian media reported explosions in areas including Bushehr, Konarak, Choghadak and Bandar Abbas, while a US official said there had been no recent American strikes. The escalation came as Iran buried Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Mashhad, after he was killed in a US-Israeli strike on 28 February. His funeral drew large crowds and anti-US banners.Meanwhile, Bonnie Tyler, the Welsh singer best known for “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero”, has died aged 75. Her family said she died unexpectedly in hospital in Portugal from the illness she had been receiving treatment for. Tyler had been hospitalised in April and reportedly underwent emergency intestinal surgery, forcing her to cancel planned performances.
