June auto retail sales up 22% to 25.57 lakh units, led by PVs
India's automobile sector saw a 21.83% year-on-year growth in June 2026, with passenger vehicles and two-wheelers hitting record sales figures. Despite this, the wheeled construction equipment segment experienced a significant decline, and rural two-wheeler sales slowed due to monsoon patterns.
The automobile sector retailed 25,57,234 units in June 2026, a 21.83% year-on-year (YoY) growth and a 1.03% increase over the previous month. The passenger vehicles (PV) segment registered a 28.63% growth, followed by tractors at 25.31%, two-wheelers (2W) 21.22%, commercial vehicles (CV) 16.88% and three-wheelers (3W) at 16.20%.
