Kabini inflow rises to 15,500 cusecs, thanks to rain in Kerala; flood alert issued downstream in Mysuru district Karnataka

In what could potentially bring some relief to the ongoing row over release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu from Karnataka, the inflow into the Kabini reservoir in Mysuru district has increased following heavy rainfall in its catchment areas. Thanks to incessant showers in Kerala, which forms a major part of the reservoir’s catchment, the dam in H.D. Kote taluk has been receiving an inflow of around 15,500 cusecs since August 1 morning.
