Kerala University removes banners and boards from campuses
Kerala University has ordered the removal of political banners and boards from its campuses to protect heritage structures and maintain order. Student and employee organizations complied with the directive, which also restricts the placement of such materials near entrance gates.
Student and employees’ organisations removed flags, banners and boards erected at the headquarters and the Karyavattom campus of Kerala University on Monday. Vice-Chancellor in-charge Mohanan Kunnummal had directed the organisations to remove the banners and boards within 24 hours a day ago. The Registrar was instructed to remove them at the university’s expense if they were not removed within the stipulated time and to recover the cost from those responsible.
