Kodiyathur panchayat member dies in accident
Ayisha Chelappuram, a standing committee chairperson for the Kodiyathur grama panchayat, has died following a motorcycle accident. She was a prominent member of the Vanitha League in Kozhikode district.
The standing committee chairperson for welfare in the Kodiyathur grama panchayat in Kozhikode district died in an accident. Ayisha Chelappuram, 53, member of Ward 17 and a functionary of the Vanitha League, the women's wing of the Indian Union Muslim League, met with the accident when her motorcycle hit an electric post near Cheruvadi on Saturday (July 25, 2026) evening. She suffered serious injuries after her face struck the post. Though Ayisha was subsequently admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode city, she died on Sunday (July 26, 2026) morning. She is survived by her husband and four sons.
