Lee Reeves: Boxer in critical but stable condition after suffering knockout in fight with Gary Cully

Boxer Lee Reeves is in a "stable but critical condition" after suffering a knockout in his fight with Gary Cully at the 3Arena in Dublin on Saturday night. <p>The fight for the BUI Celtic super-lightweight title came to an end in the 10th round when Reeves suffered a heavy knockout from a big left hand from his opponent.</p><p>Reeves was stretchered out of the ring and then taken to the hospital for further checks. He was also treated with oxygen ringside.</p><p>In a statement, Queensberry Promotions said: "Lee Reeves is still in hospital, in a critical but stable condition.</p><p>"We will know more in the coming days, and our thoughts and prayers remain with Lee and his family."</p><widget id="1"></widget><p>In an earlier statement on social media, Queensberry founder Frank Warren said: "All our thoughts and prayers are with Lee Reeves and his family at this time as he remains in hospital.</p><p>"Everyone at Queensberry is thinking of him and we're in constant contact with his team regarding his condition as we hope for positive news."</p><p>With the win, Cully improved his record to 20-2 - but his immediate thoughts were with his opponent.</p><p>"My prayers and thoughts are with Lee Reeves, hopefully he's OK," he said.</p><p>"He came in there as a big underdog after fighting relatively at a lower level up until now.</p><p>"But he really showed that he can operate at a higher level. Huge credit to him."</p>
