Lots of lilies coming to Latvian Nature Museum

The Latvian Nature Museum is hosting an exhibition featuring over 150 lily varieties, including contributions from local and international breeders. The event aims to showcase the diversity of lily scents and colors while providing expert advice on cultivation.
The exhibition will feature more than 150 lily varieties grown in Latvian gardens, including the work of both local and foreign breeders, as well as several dozen of the newest lily varieties. Everyone interested is invited to appreciate not only the splendour of the flowers but also the variety of scents and colours. Lilies can be white, yellow, orange, pink, and red. The exhibition organisers will encourage visitors to pay special attention to the fragrant trumpet lilies, a variety in which Latvia stands out among other countries. Lily growers Antra Balode, Maruta Audare, Guntis Grants, Dāvids Hercbergs, Ingrīda Grīna, Velta Leskoviča, Solvita Erniņa, and Agra Straumane, as well as the National Botanical Garden, will participate in the exhibition. Breeders and growers from the “Lilium Balticum” association will offer visitors advice on growing lilies, breeding, and choosing the most suitable varieties for their gardens. Visitors will also have the opportunity to order lily bulbs. Everyone will be able to vote for the lily they consider the most beautiful, and its grower will receive the “Lilium Balticum” Society’s travelling trophy.
