Man hospitalised in Walton car wash brawl was member of staff

A staff member at a car wash in Walton was hospitalized with a puncture wound following a brawl involving a group of men. Police are currently investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A fight outside a car wash that saw a man rushed to hospital with a "puncture wound" to his back involved a member of staff, the valet centre's boss confirmed. The scuffle broke out at Long Lane Hand Car Wash at around 6.35pm on Sunday (July 5), resulting in emergency services being called to the scene. Merseyside Police officers arrived to find a man in his 20s with a "puncture wound" to his back. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Long Lane Hand Car Wash boss Hasib Nureen told the ECHO that the victim was a staff member, and that he was "OK" and expected to leave hospital today, July 6. The car wash and valeting centre was open this morning as usual, with multiple cars being serviced in the grounds, which were cordoned off last night. Mr Nureen said "there was a small argument" that led to a group of men brawling outside the car wash gates. The suspects fled the area before officers arrived, with an investigation now underway to find those involved. In a video seen by the ECHO, a group of men can be seen fighting at the car wash before they are chased away while muffled shouting can be heard from the men. When the ECHO attended the scene yesterday, forensic officers had bagged several items from the car wash, including what appeared to be two shovels. Merseyside Police said and investigation is ongoing. The force is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
