Man United can accelerate next transfer after confirming £85m deals

Manchester United is considering a move for French midfielder Manu Kone following his performance at the World Cup. Despite recent high-profile signings, the club is looking to further strengthen its squad during the summer transfer window.
Manchester United may have signed three players within a week, but the latest action at the World Cup could prompt them to go into the market for another player. Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow have all been added to Michael Carrick’s squad this week, with all three deals wrapped up in quick time. United are still being linked with a host of potential new signings, many of whom will have featured for their respective country at the World Cup this summer. One player who has been mentioned as a potential target for United is Manu Kone, who enjoyed an impressive season with Roma last term. Kone helped France reach the semi-final of the World Cup, before Les Bleus suffered a 2-0 defeat to Spain on Tuesday night in Dallas. Reports have speculated that Kone could be available for around €60million (£51million) this summer, but United are not the only club to be credited with an interest in the France international. Liverpool and Atletico Madrid have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Kone, who scored two goals and provided three assists across all competitions for Roma last term. There were also suggestions earlier in the summer that Inter Milan could try to sign Kone, and it looks likely that the 25-year-old’s future could be a subject of speculation throughout the transfer window. Now that France have been knocked out of the World Cup, even though they will have to take part in the third-fourth place play-off match on Saturday, it could give United a chance to swoop in and try and agree a deal for Kone, should they wish to do so. The aforementioned duo cost United £85million in total, and a move for Kone would take that spending well beyond the £100million mark if it were to be completed. Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga has also been mentioned as a potential target for United this summer, as has his team-mate and compatriot Aurelien Tchouameni.
