Forest Minister Shibu Baby John has directed the public sector undertakings Indian Rare Earths Limited (IRE) and Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited (KMML) in Chavara to ensure their mineral sand mining operations are entirely complaint-free. Speaking at an official meeting convened in the presence of the District Collector, the Minister instructed that both PSUs must resolve pressing local challenges, including land disputes and coastal erosion, while carrying out their operations.
